I thinking about buying an x67c for both open water and ice fishing. I like the idea of having one unit that serves two purposes for me. My question is could I use the skimmer transducer for ice fishing or am I better off buying the ice machine package and then buying the skimmer transducer for my boat? Also does anyone have any idea what the skimmer transducer costs? Thanks. Dan

I had one and it is a great unit! I had the ice pack for it with the ice ducer and had the skimmer on the boat. In my opinion it is well worth it to have both.

Buy the ice package and pick up the skimmer when you rig the boat. Skimmer should be less than $60 new.

PS, I have used the 67 on both ice and open water and can give it the rating. Nice little unit.

cabelas sells it in an ice pack($299)and the skimmer transducer is around $60 so for around $360 your still cheaper than the new vexilar fl20’s and you have somethin that you can use all year round. Ive been pondering getting one for my self. The soft pack at cabelas includes the standard 12 volt battery with charger, battery indicator, and iceducer with float.

It’s a great unit. You won’t be disappointed. I’d plan on getting separate transducers, though. Thorne Brothers had a deal where they through in the skimmer when you bought the Ice Machine. I’m not sure if the deal is still on, but it’s worth checking into.

Edit: Just checked. They still have this deal going.
