What do you guys do to clean your rain gear. I’ve got a set of Stearns, similar to the Guide Wear from Cabelas, not as nice though. Anyway, the instructions say to sponge off. Well the grime isn’t coming off. Does anyone ever through these in the washing machine?? I’m open to all suggestions..

    Thanks!!!

I also have the Stearns rain gear, and have had really good luck with it. I know it’s been washed a couple of times in the washing machine. I reccomend gentle cycle and hang dry. I have never had any problems with this.
    Good luck,

There is a cleaner just for gortex, also I was told to always dry in dryer. Guess the heat brings back some chem. in the out side , so I have always done that, read label!O gore.tex.com. hope it helped.

I was always told to make sure you put Gortex in the dryer as well. The heat from the dryer reactivates something on the outer coating of the raingear. This makes the water bead off the jacket giving it more water protection. i have never tried the soap out on the market that is available for use with Goretex, but heard it works well
