I and my partner are looking for some good quality hair jigs in the 1/16th, 1/8th ounce weights. I know Hutch makes some nice ones, and will probably get some there, but would like to have a variety of styles and colors. Are there other places out there that you can recommend??

I got some from fireflick last year. Nice ones that he and his father make. I don’t know if he makes them that light though.

You can look on captianhooks.com for river fishing supplies.

if you are interested in regular roundhead jigheads, that stay in the strike zone longer than the arrow heads, or flathead jigs, these are round heads, and i tie all sizes and all colors. here is a coupld pics of some that i tie.

these are made from bucktails, the best that I have come across, you think of a color i can tie it no matter what size you want. here are a few more, i also do stingers if you are interested. pm me or email me if interested.

I love Wayne’s jigs! Most tie them too long and WAY too bulky. There’s quite an art to tying hair and to watch Wayne do it is quite a neat deal. I’d recommend his stuff to anyone.

I make the jigs custom to how you want them, so if you don’t want them as long or as bulky just let me know, but they have a little better action this way and i have been having great success on them this year.

Hey James. How about some pointers on fishing hair jigs.
They look like they would fall to the bottom to fast and get hung up. What about meat on them? Thanks

I agree with James on this one. I talked to an avid jig maker in Pepin and he told me that less hair was better. He does make them a little longer than others, but very light on the hair. It is almost difficult at first to make them that “skimpy”, but after awhile, the old looks very, very bulky. This is coming from the best jig fisherman that I know personally, (no offense guys).
