    Ok guys and gals,

I’m about to upgrade my electronics package on my rig.I’m looking for a unit that will give me an outstanding sounder and a mapping program that will be easy to use.Gps speed is a very important part of the GPS unit too. I would like to be able to read below 1 mph if that is even possible.

If you run either one of these units I would like to hear the pros and cons of both units.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave,

I have the Garmin 168 GPS unit and love it for keeping my eye on speed. It reads really well for me under the 1mph mark. To be honest with you, after having a GPS that reads speeds that slow, I would not want to fish without it.

I have read great things about the new 188c. I would check them out

    Dave,
I run the 188 and love it. One of the things I like best is the second mounting stations. These work great for using the unit at various locations in the boat.
