I’m having a difficult time deciding between the top Leer and A.R.E. truck cap models. The Leer seems to be about $350.00 or so cheaper but I can’t tell why. Does anyone have some insight between these two manufacturers?

    Thanks in advance!

I’ve owned one Leer cap and the design of the rear window/latch was terrible. I was constantly replacing rivets, it almost fell off once or twice, etc. Finally just dumped it. Bought it used so there was no warranty. The dealer I bought it from stopped carrying them because of the number of complaints he received.

I’ve never owned a ARE cap so can’t give you any insight there. I own a Jason now and so far it’s been fine.

    Hope this helps

You might want to check out Glastite, they are made in minnesota and there service is next to none.
I have a brother with an A.R.E. and he said on his next truck he will go with Glastite.
Good luck with what ever you go with.

Thanks, I’ll check out Glasstite also. Anyone with some opinions on the Leer 100XL line?
