    What are some good, loud, minnow style cranks? I know of the rattlin rogues but I’m actually looking for something with a little more THUMP!

    Something in the mold of a Rapala HJ 10 or 12 with the pounding sound of the Ohio State marching band would suffice. It’d be most helpful if the product is not discontinued (or if it is, you know of a place to purchase and are willing to share the info).

    Thanks for your input!

    Check out the loudmouth series offered by Mann’s. They make the most noise out of any hard bait that I have found.

    Wade,
    you may want to look at some of the muskie cranks. There are some 5″ and 6″ that have an agressive wobble. The Buchertail Baby shallow raider comes to mind and is in the 5.25″ range.

    The Salmo Whitefish is another crank I’m quite pleased with! Being 7″ and a thicker body than a #18 Rap floater, this maybe your meal ticket, however only for a slooooooooooow troll, as they do run a bit deep.

    Lastly;
    Look at the Muskie Mania 6″ Jake. It is basically a knock off of the babyraider, but it does perform well.

    Gotta like the Rouges. Hard to find a louder rattle and one the runs true out of the box 95% of the time.

    I 2nd the shallow raider I have taken many eyes on those trolling for skies. I like the smaller grandmas to but they dont have the loud your looking for.

    For “BIG” walleyes, do not be afraid of using muskie baits. Big “weed” walleyes have hit muskie cranks and jerk baits more than once!!!!

    I got a pic of a 22″ eye crushing a 10″ suick, pulled out of cabbage on a bright, sunny day, at noon!!!!!

    Try the noisy muskie cranks and I think you might be surprised!!!!

    G, just got off the phone with Salmo. I ordered us two Whitefish SW 13F’s, one sliver and one fire tiger. These babys are 5 3/4′ and only dive 3-5 feet.. These baits will give those 30 inchers a man size meal..

    Don’t be afraid to troll an X-Rap either…I’ve done REALLY well with these.
