Just a disclaimer, I am not trying to offend any sponsors or post an illegal post but I was wondering if anyone has ever used the m-ywedge?

Here is the website, looks like a nice time and effort saving idea but not sure Im comfortable without some reviews- http://www.m-ywedge.com is the website. Thank you.

pretty neat, but I’d have to question where the trailer shock goes to, I know its hard rubber, but don’t traditional savers keep some of the weight off the transom and distribute it to the trailer?

That was my first thought too. To be a transom saver doesn’t it need to transfer the weight off the transom? What they have here seems to be the Simms Vibration Laboratory’s version of the bracket that is already on your motor.

    JJ,
I use the m-y wedge on my last 2 pro-v’s because I have used Shoreland’r trailers and I did not want to use the transom saver that has to go up under the trailer frame. I have not had any problems, but it does not take the weight off the transom just the trim/tilt of the motor.
If you do purchase the wedge make sure that you do not need one on each side or if you have seastar steering you may also need to purchase the 2 clips that go on the steering of the motor to keep the motor from turning. On my Yamaha I only use on one side due to a grease zerk on the other and it does not turn my motor going down the road.
I use it because that is what my boat dealer suggested and uses on all his new boats with shoreland’r trailers.

I think Steve (DZ) uses the “my wedge” and had reported on it once here. I think he gave it a thumbs up. Maybe he’ll see this and comment too. I feel more comfortable using the full transom saver. I’m not sure if I’m right about that, but that’s what I do.

I believe all outboards have a tilt lock lever which does the exact same thing the m-ywedge does. Other than it looking good, I really don’t see how it helps in anyway. In noway does it help prevent stress to the transom as a traditional transom saver does.

I have one, not sure I like it or not yet, I’ve been using my transom saver instead, the wedge is more for protecting your power trim and tilt that transom as far as I can figure. Not sure they are really the same thing for say, I plan to try and get them both adjusted so the work together. I’ve seen them for sale in Crystal Pierce, I bough mine over the internet, seems they are local out of spring lake park. I gotta play around with it a little more before I pass judgement.

I’ve seen it used and don’t think it would be so great. It doesen’t take any stress off the transom and it takes the same amount of time to put on and take off as a transom saver.
I like the centering clip idea. They would be nice to keep your motor from flopping over to its side.
