2004-2007 model year 40-90 hp evinrude E-TEC outboard with serial numbers below SN 5166490.
During orignal factory testing the fuel system for these outboards was pressurized. This testing may have damaged a small percentage of fuel filters. All factory installed fuel filters on the above noted outboard MUST be replaced to prevent potential fuel filter leaks. A fuel leak when combined with an igmnition source, could result in a fire or explosion and present a risk of serious personal injury to the operator, passengers, and bystanders. No injuries related to fuel filter leaks have been reported to date.
Call an authorized Evinrude/johnson dealer and make an appointment to have the outboard inspected and serviced. This service will be performed at no charge. Owner is responsible for transportation cost.
