Anyone have any experience with this unit or the brand? I am looking for an inexpensive ff for an old boat and I saw this was on sale at cabelas, but I’m only familiar with Garmin and Lowrance. The specs look decent on the unit, but I know nothing about Bottom line.

    Thanks,
    Dan

My brother has one and he had nothing but trouble, has sent it back once, and still has problems. Another friend has one albeit a more expensive model, his has been back a few times as well. so draw your own conclusion. I would buy a cheap Eagle.

I had a 320 bottomline and I had trouble with it, so I returned it and got a Eagle fishmark 320 and didnt have any problems. It was nice when it was working. Just hope you get a good one.

I have not owned a bottom line but spent a lot of time fishing with someone who had one and it seemed to work great. Never hade much for problems with it that I know of. On the Eagles I will say I have nothing to complain about on them. I have a 320 and a 480 and they work great. Let us know what you end up with and how it works out.

I have a 480 , a 320 and an old 1250. The 480 is a good locator for the $$$$. I sent mine in last fall and had it upgraded and it has treated me well. I bought a 320 for my beater boat but have only used it once.. My 1250 is mounted on my Minn Kota and works awesome. I do have interference problems with the 480 if I use my Co-pilot. I would buy another one , but have heard they are no longer building them as Humminbird purchased them basically for the Fishing Buddy. Hope this helps……… I have used BLines for about 10 years

Thanks for the info guys. I probably pass on the 480 given the mixed feedback. I have a Raymarine A series on my other boat and love that, but looking for a cheaper alternative for the old boat. I’ll check out the others.

    Thanks as always!

I decided to try a hbird Matrix 17 for this boat. I got a good deal on it ($154) and I could bring it home immediately. I think it has a little bit better screen than the lower-end monochrome eagle/lowrance units. I’ll find out soon enough. Vacation starts on Saturday and I’m bringing this boat. Hopefully, we will put a big dent in the local striped bass and bluefish populations.

Good luck on the trip. Hope all goes well and the new locator works good. Be sure to let us know how you do.
