Got a GlobalMap 3600 with the Northern Version Navionics SD from Wade a while back. I have only been on lakes that are included on that SD. Going to Missouri for a few days next week. What would you suggest I select to get a lake down there? Map Data then what? Can I add Waypoints with the North SD installed or should I put in another SD card. Sorry if this a dumb question, but I’m still getting used to using this GPS unit. Never was very good at understanding operating instructions. I’m the guy that tried to put the kids toys together on Xmas eve. then dug out the instructions to try to figure out why the wheels looked like they were on bassakwards.

Hi Gramps! How are you sir?

The North data card that you have does not include the state of Missouri so the GPS will automatically revert to basemap when you are in Missouri. You shouldn’t have to do a thing.

As for entering waypoints, icons, and marking trails, you also don’t have to change a thing. All the waypoints that you have been saving thus far are being saved to the GPS, not the map card. Likewise, when you are catching giant fish in Missouri and you enter a waypoint, it will also be saved to the GPS unit’s internal memory. Nothing is saved on the map card. You can just leave it in the card slot if you want.

So, the simple summary to your question is… you don’t have to do anything at all! You don’t even have to read them manual! Have fun on your trip Gramps!

Sure. Use your menu to go to “map data” and hit enter. Scroll to “Navionics Map choice” and hit enter again. There will be several options available. You need to scroll to the correct region for the lake you are fishing, and hit enter, then exit twice.

Here is the link to the various codes and corresponding lake regions:

    Code Numbers for Hotmaps Premium

And here’s a link to how to pull up a Navionics map.
