New FL-20 Changes the Way Anglers Fish

Minneapolis, MN. The dawn of a new era in sport fishing sonar is at
hand. Vexilar Marine Electronics, pioneers in marine sonar technology
for over 40 years is launching an exciting new sonar/fish finder the
    FL-20.

Using cutting edge flasher sonar technology developed by Vexilar, the
FL-20 promises to deliver a live action, three-color sonar display that
is bigger, and more visible than anything previously offered by Vexilar.

The sleek profile of the FL-20 offers a larger viewing window and a
greatly enhanced viewing angle of the display. The super-bright LEDs can
be easily seen in sunlight, but after dark, the FL-20 offers a night
mode so you can turn down the intensity of the lights for comfortable
    night viewing.

The FL-20 uses the same easy to operate, three-knob control system as
their popular FL-18 Flasher sonar, but with some enhanced features. A
ten step inference rejection feature is standard with the FL-20. You
will also be glad to know the Vexilar FL-20 enhanced receiver
performance and increased noise immunity. This means less inference
when fishing with other 200 kHz systems.

The FL-20 boasts two auto zoom ranges that split the display screen to
let you focus in on just the bottom 6 or 12 feet of the water column,
    depending on your needs.

The FL-20 is capable of showing target I.D. of less than 1/2 inch, but
can also display depths down to 200 feet. Another new feature is a 20
foot shallow water mode that is available for anglers when fishing in
thick weeds or in very shallow water. The 20′ Low Power Mode cuts the
output of the transmitter by nearly 50% to make it easier to see true
bottom in thick weeds or when you are fishing in only a few feet of
    water.

Combine all these features plus a low battery warning light and you can
see why many experts believe the FL-20 will change the way many anglers
fish with sonar summer or winter.

You can learn more about the Vexilar FL-20 and the complete line of
Vexilar products by visiting their web site at http://www.vexilar.com

The FL-20 Pro Pack II will retail for $449.95

    Cool!
I have a FL-8 that I use exclusively for ice fishing and am thinking about taking it on a trip this summer. Does anyone have some kind of idea on how I could or should attach it to the back of the boat. I don’t want to buy any new transducers or anything, just want to rig it to the boat for the trip. Thanks.

You are going to have trouble with the Ice ducer unless you are fishin from a canoe. If you will be in a boat you are going to want a high speed ducer. You should be able to pick up a kit fairly reasonable.

I put my puck type transducer on the trolling motor in the soft water months – you could buy one of the flex arms for your and hook it up to that in the hardwater months… If you have an ice ducer you may be able to rig something up for temp with pvc tubing and a ziptie or two… let us know if you need some more ideas… Chuckles
