New Boat Help

Hello all,
I am thinking of purchasing a boat in the near future and needed help. I will be fishing smaller lakes and rivers and need room for wife and three small kids. I am leaning toward an evinrude etec for a motor 30-50hp. Boat brand I have no idea, but want a v-bottom. I plan on spending around 10 thousand if possible. Do you guys have any suggestions or anything to stay away from? Also any good dealers. I live in Iowa but MN or WI is close enough. Thanks for any help

Check the Free Classifides on the website. Other than that, you need to do more research and find out exactly what you want. Think storage and think about having enough power to pull your kids around on tubes and skis. You should be able to find a decent used boat for that price. Take your time and enjoy. Ride and fish out of as many boats as possible in the mean time. The Evinrude E-Tec is a great motor, I would love to have one myself, but they do come at a price.

Here are the Boat adds on IDA right now. The market is flooded with used boats right now it is a buyers market. Me personally I would look for a used rig there are allot to choose from and you will save thousands.

Do you know what size boat you are looking for? Some things to think about is what you are towing the boat with and the towing capacity that your car/truck can tow.

I agree on the motor choice. Boat brand…that is another subject!

You will probably have to raise your limit on price. You will be around $10,000 with a 16″ boat with a 25HP. You can gewt some good deals on packages with everything you need for the $2,500 to $15,000 range depending on the brand. I know that Crystal Pierz Marine has Crestliners with 40 HP strokes and great fishing p[ackages for that price range.
