The lakemaster will zoom in just slightly more, but it doesn’t offer the number of lakes the Nav chip does. You need to look at the lakes each has to offer and see what fits you needs best. Both are great products!!

Kooty hit the nail on the head.
YOU need to figure out what lakes YOU want.

I found that if you have a color unit, the lakemaster has better coloring and is easier to read in the sunlight than navionics, for me at least. I think the lakemaster seperates the contour lines a little better colorwise, and the other two were right about get the lakes you want. If you go to cabelas they should let you demo them in the store

I have only noticed one bad thing with the navionics. That is when we were out on lake sharpe in south dakota last week a lot of the time we were on what the locator showed as land. not sure if this was only happening on the navionics chip or all of them because we did talk to a number of people that were saying the same thing. never did ask what kind of chip they had. either way they are both great products. i would base my opinion on which brand has the most lakes that you will be fishing most often.

My suggestion is to go both. I use the Navionics on my dash and covers the extra lakes. The Lakemaster is on the bow to get the extra zoom since I will be running the boat from up there while fishing.

The Hot-Spots (Nav.) seems more accurate overall to me than the Lakemaster. They are both prety “general” in the contour data, and they vary greatly from each other.( That alone tells you that they arent 100% accurate) .There are sunken humps (a big one) on a particular lake shown on the Nav. thats not on the Lakemater. Fun to play with in conjunction with the ever important “paper” map ! see you on the water.

I have both and I have been more impressed with the Lakemaster/Lowrance chip than the Navionics. I mainly fish Mille Lacs, Winnie, and LOTW. Navionics buys the data from ReelBottom and Lakemaster anyways. I found better detail with my Lakemaster chip over the Navionics! Especially on Mille Lacs. I use the Navionics on the dash and the Lakemaster on the bow as stated above. Good Luck and they do make a great tool in our fishing arsenal! 690reece

This may be a dumb question but i am looking at getting a lakemaster chip before we go to devils lake in ND and i was wondering if they make northern region chips for multiple states like the Navionics chips or are they for 1 state only? Thanks

I like my Navionics Premium North chip. I think you’ll like it too if you like to travel around our 3-state area. I am heading to White Lake over in Michigan this weekend and I just remembered I’m covered with my Navionics chip.

My only comlaint is not being able to zoom way in.
