Over the weekend my bow mount troller decided it only wanted to have one speed, full speed. The speed control will slide up and down like it should, but the speed remains the same. I took the foot pedal apart and saw nothing out of place or extremely dirty. It is a 55lb. Powerdrive. Any ideas?

Based on my experience with several powerdrives, I would say with 95% certainty that you have a pedal gone bad. These things crap out with surprising frequency. Find a buddy to swap pedals with, or find a co-pilot, and check it out. It’s a cheap fix for a new pedal, or if your motor’s still under warranty, MK will replace it for you.

I have the same tmotor and recently had a situation in which it would turn right but then never stop turning right. Guys on this site suggested I clean it! I took it apart and while it did not appear to be extremely dirty, whatever cleaning I did fixed it.

Try that first and if that doesn’t help its probably got a bigger issue.

Actually what happened it you had part of your circuit board go bad, Call minnkota they can help you out, I went through the same thing with my motor, got the part from minkota (they didn’t chage me, though I did pick it up), and swapped the board out in a matter of a half hour, it only took a half hour because I was going slow. Easy project. Like I said same exact thing happened to me, I’ll say I’m 99.9% sure , easy quick fix.
