i know this may sound stupid to some – but truly just getting started…purchased a used boat and its really set up nice
my problem is that i had to get a co-pilot for the trolling motor – worked okay the 1st time out but since then i had to purchase another and went out and had nothing —- so recharged the battery and out in the yard put on the motor and tested—everything seems to be working – turn left, turn right, power etc… but the prop doesn’t start

so do i gotta have it in the water to ensure it works– or if not, what kind of issues i might have???

    appreciate any feedback

    thanks – still a rookie

My trolling motor will not run if it is not in the water but it is a Pinpoint. I am not sure about Minnkotas.
