    Thinking of buying one. Pros good or bad? Do mount it front or back of boat?

    I love the Lowrance color units. Best $1200 I ever spent. I have mine on the console and kept my old X-16 for the bow. Make sure you mount it securely with a RAM mount. The units are fairly heavy with the heat sink, so if they’re not secured properly you’ll have a hard time getting it to remain in place in moderate to heavy seas. This would be my only complaint. The boat dealer originally mounted my X-16 on a Jonny Ray swivel mount and it broke the first time I hit a decent wave. My X-16 is about half the weight of the X-25.

    I bought the Eagle “sister” version, the Fishstrike 2000C,and absolutely love it! I mounted mine on the console, and in a 20′ boat I can still read it well in split screen from the transom when running the kicker!
    You will not regret it!

    They’ve been one of the most reliable and highly praised units out there. Feedback has been nothing but excellent on the LCX-25C.
