Hi guys,Heres another sonar problem for ya.
Last night I went out to check a couple lakes on the unit, and found that when I booted it up everything was as usual.Hit the exit key to get out of the warning. Now heres were it gets weird. When I hit the pages key,all I get is a map selection instead of the four selections I used to get. Also when I then hit the MENU key to try and figure it out, I only get one page of menu, instead of two.Once I hit the menu button the second time it goes back to full screen.
    Anyone had this happen?
Is there something simple I’m missing?
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks guys,Brad Gravenhof

    Advanced mode????????
And yes tried turning it on and off, does the same thing.
I cant seem to get anywere to change anything even.
When I hit the pages key all I get Is MAPS,with Full Map,Digital Data,Two Maps,Map and Sonar, and one other one I think, below it.
The funny thing is I never changed anything,I thought I was just figuring out how to use it,now I’m not so sure.

OK,so I get home this aftrnoon, and now I dont even have a Map and Sonar choice! This means no sonar till I get this thing working! Is this thing a lemon or what?
It’s like it has a mind of its own!

OK now you have to check the Battery Voltage at the unit.

I’d start at the unit and work my way back if you get less than your 12v reading.

Well I checked the voltage, and it was 13+ being hooked up to the three bank charger.
I also ckecked up by the unit and it was the same.
I’m completely out off ideas at this point and Wade is out of town thru the rest of the week.
I need this thing desperately by the weekend.
hopefully Lowrance can help me out over the phone tomarrow.
If anyone else has some input I’m up for trying anything at this point.
    Later, Brad Gravenhof

Maybe your getting some electrical noise from the charger. Try turning the charger off.

Did you get it working yet? Make sure you remove any memory chips before trying this……… This requires some manual dexterity. Press and hold the menu key and the exit key and then press the power button. On the demo unit I was playing with a software download page appeared. I powered off and when it powered up everything was reset. Most electronics have some magic power on sequence like this. I’d still make sure the charger was off before powering up any of my electronics.

I’ll try that for giggles. But I got the new one from Lowrance today.I explained over the phone what it was doing and they sai “Wooohhhhh , We need to take a look at that.”
Could have waited to get it fixed, but they sent me a brand new one next day for 20 bucks.

Well I’ve about had it with this unit…I had the same thing happen to me today. Turned it on, and it went to the full screen map…pressed pages to go to sonar, and the menu screen didn’t show up. Only a little tiny grey box appeared and when I pressed the arrow key, the unit rebooted it’s self, but it was still messed up. I’m so mad I could scream. Anyone else out there having this problem still? I bought the thing in Brainerd at Reed’s and would rather not have to drive 2 plus hours to get this thing replaced. I tried to do the so called re-boot (pressing pages while turning it on) but it didn’t do any good. Like I said, I’m about ready to write off Lowrance all together. I’ve never been real impressed with thier products, and I finally spend 650 bucks and have had nothing but trobles with it. Please help

That unit definitely has a serious malfunction. I’d send it in to lowrance to have them go thru it before you drop kick the thing into the lake out of frustration.

I got the problem fixed…called the place where I bought it and they told me to take out the map chip, then hold zoom in + zoom out + pwr. It rebooted the whole system, and it seems to work fine now. What a relief

I finally thought I had everything set with this unit…then today while fishing a spot on Minnetonka, I kept losing the gps signal again. The thing sounded like a pinball machine beeping almost non stop for 15 minutes. Then I finally found some fish and went make a way point, and it didn’t have the position acquired. Very frustrating especially when the wind was blowing like it was. Maybe I just got a bad unit…any thoughts?

If it keeps giving you problems get it exchanged while under warranty. If you continue to have problems with 334s I’d get a 332C and be done with it. You may have to go directly through Lowrance, depending on the retailers arrangement with Lowrance. Just ask your retailer and they’ll tell you if the exchange needs to go through them or through Lowrance.
