Thinking of going up to a 36volt. Other than add another battery what other changes to I need to make? Do I need another battery charger? I have a three bank on board charger right now. Anybody using 36volt motors? How do you like them and what size boat are you using them on? Thanks for the help.

I’ve got a maxxum pro on a 20 ft skeeter and I’ll never own anything less than that for a trolling motor. its great for current and when having to deal with wind. the only thing you’ll need is a jumper between your batteries. just be careful if the head is pointed sideways and you have ‘er on a 100. easily get thrown out of the boat if you aren’t ready for it. I only have a 2 bank charger and I just cut the connectors off and put alligator clamps on so I could switch batteries without having to buy another charger

How many jumpers do you need for the batteries. I would assume you run 2 jumpers

I’m thinking about making the switch soon. When I had troubles with my original 2 bank charger, I sent it to Ranger and they mistakenly sent me a 3-bank charger, but that’s our little secret

I currently own a 36 volt 101 Maxxum Pro with the universal sonar and it rocks, it’s mounted on the bow of my 18 foot Lund and it will pull my rig through anything.
I ordered my boat last year with the Minn Kota 3 bank and everything has worked fine up to now (keeping my fingers crossed). I also use 3 Interstate 27’s which I also highly recomend.
The real bonus is when you fish hard all day or tournament fish you still have lots of juice left over at the end of the day.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with this unit.
