I finally got to run the Edge3 on Mille lacs over the weekend and got more than I had expected. Using color combo # 3 with a white background, bait fish and small perch were showing up as black targets. Walleyes were showing up as red/yellow targets. I was instantly impressed. The hard bottom indicator worked flawlessly. Using a scale from 0-20, the Edge3 will measure how hard or soft the bottom is. When we were fishing in the rocks, the indicator was on 15. When fishing the sand it was on 6. Using the high speed mode, we were able to run at 10mph and mark bait fish and walleyes with no problem. The picture is crystal clear and there is no guess work in telling bait from fish. Ive seen other color graphs and IMHO, they do not have a picture like the Edge3. The Edge3 is extremely vivid and colorfull.

Derek, nice post on the edge 3, I have been looking to upgrade my locator and was looking at the edge 2, possibly a rebuilt to save a little money, any thoughts on that?

There is a significant difference in the color edge3 v.s grey unit. There are more features and obviously the color. I would rather have the grey Edge2 v.s a mid-grade color unit.

I have had mine for about 9mo. I was a Lowrance customer but not anymore. It’s time to buy one for the front of the boat now!!!!!!!!!! Plasticman
