Does the Trollmaster use any power when not in use? Are you guys adding a seperate power switch?

    Thanks,

I have had mine hooked direct for over a year now and have had no problems with battery drain. I do not believe it uses any power when not on.

Actually, I just got it. But I am SO hesitant to install it. They told me it is so simple to install, but I looked at the CD instructions, gosh…messing around with my T8 kicker throttle is really scary. What if I screw up? Any advice on how to install it would be appreciated. THanks

    TSCTSC,

Don’t worry too much about it. Your throttle will go back just the way it is now with the exception that you added a colar clamp and the push rod from the Trollmaster to it. If you have problems post here or call Bill @ Trollmaster.

    TSCTSC,

Its actually really easy. You are only adding on a mechanical accessory to your throttle linkage. This in no way effects your motor and how it runs. This is simply a device to control the speed (motion of the throttle linkage).

It really is a very simple install. If you live in the area, I would be happy to help you out some time.

I am concerned cos I read the instructions and it tells me to dismantle the throttle mechanism or something like that and that sort of freaks me out. Hehe.

The entire throttle linkage bar is held in place by a plastic clip on one end and a bolt coming in at a 90′ angle on the other if memory serves. Nuttin’ to it! Don’t let the description fool you. This was / is a straight forward install.

Each motor has a little different setup as to how the linkage connects to the carb throttle arm, but the concept is the same on every motor. A wire connected to the servo motor and that runs to the attached point on the throttle arm. The servo motor has a little set screw on it that is made for adjustment after linkage is installed. I have installed about 8 of them over the years and I have not seen one that has been difficult to install.

I have done a couple now, and there is nothing to it! Just make sure that the push rod from the servo goes under the existing throttle arm, and that the servo screw is on the right side of the dial. There is a CD that comes with it showing pictures.
