Two of my buddies have switch to Amsoil in their trucks and both has seen gas mileage improvements. I’ve heard good things about it too from my mechanic. I’m thinking of using it in my truck, outboard and sled. Anyone else have good luck with it?

    Thanks

    Derek,

I have not used it yet, but after plenty of discussion and research I just ordered a case of the Marine Amsoil to start using in my F150 and T8 now starting their second season.

I’ve always ran synthetic in my truck, mobile one for me, never seem much improvement in mileage, theoretically it should be possible. In addition I run 5w30 instead of the 5w20 ford suggests, I’m sure that hurts me a bit. I’d love it it you would post your results.

I highly recommend using the 5w20 that Ford wants. The vehicles they suggest it in have had problems with premature cam failures using thicker oil because of tighter tolerances.

After many conversations about what oil to use…..I am using the Amzoil 10W40 marine synthetic in my Johnson 140 4 stroke. Time will tell.but so far I like!!

I run Amsoil in just about everthing I own, so far . I really haven’t noticed the gas mileage improvement, but on startup on cold mornings I have noticed the rig starts much easier.

On my 2 stroke Evinrude, little to no smoke, no more no oil engine light/buzzer on those cold mornings during the winter months.

Last year myself and 2 other tournament guys went in on a 30 gal drum of Amsoil HP Injector Synthetic. Buying bulk we were able to get the price down to $14/gal. I guess that’s an OK price considering it retails at >$22/gal.

2 out of 3 of us loved the stuff, and 1 had motor problems but that wasn’t because of the oil. The HP is ranked one of the top synthetic oils.

If you want to consider buying bulk, I have a contact at Amsiol who can save you some $$$. Pm me if interested.
