Taper-Lock seat bases

    I’m trying to install a new depthfinder on my dash, but the seat post is stuck and I’m having to work around it. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with these type of bases, and what type of maintenance should I be doing on them?

    spray knocker loose around taper let sit 10 min. Then one guy pulls up and the other taps base with hammer. Be careful when it lets loose can send you on your butt or smack you in the face. Then put a little grease on it before install. Good luck!!
