My corded Minnkota Co-Pilot came a couple days ago after being on backorder at Cabelas for several weeks. I noticed Minnkota completely revamped the box design and switches are all located in different positions. Installation was a breeze (just plugs into the foot control connector) and it is compatible with the cordless co-pilot as well. I’ll attach some additional pictures to give you a relative size. Price was $99 plus S/H.

you must have got the corded one at the same time I got the cordless one
as others have mentioned the cordless installation was easy…. the control device very small… Im sure too small for gloved use…. but from now one this year I think I can go without gloves….. and it will be great.. it was very responsive in my out of water trial….. cant wait to get it in the water… already sent for the extra controller for $5.. thanks to all who wrote about it….

RiverEyes, yes, just came a couple days ago. My cordless one came a few weeks back but I knew up front that it was going to be too small for gloves in Winter kinds of fishing. We fish the Rainy River in late October and it gets pretty nasty up there at times so I thought this bigger unit with large switches might be just the ticket. It should be very good on Pool 4 during Winter months as well.I really grumble at the original foot control design so we’ll see how these things do. I ordered the spare unit for the cordless as well…great deal for $5.

Thanks Frank. Have you had a chance to try it out yet either on water or land? I have the Panther Steering kit for my kicker motor and really like it so that makes the co-pilot sound pretty good too. Must be getting either lazy or spoiled hey. lol. Is the cord 18 ft. long? Thanks, Bill

By any chance can you get an extra cord one for 5 bucks? Thanks, Bill

Bill, I tried it in the garage, seemed pretty good, and the cord must be in the range of 18 feet, I’ll measure it accurately tomorrow and post what I find. The steering buttons on top seemed especially nice to the touch. I’m not sure how the speed control will be but just by brushing down the side of the unit the speed knob moves faster or slower. I’ll post an on the water report as soon as I get out, hopefully next week.

They are talking 48 degrees next weekend but by the looks of things outside right now I think we have to pay our ”dues” [snow] first. lol. Come on Spring!!! Thanks, Bill
