I’m in the market for a good landing net. The one I have is getting gray hair and has outlived it’s usefulness.

I have bought a Beckman net and I love it ….It just may be the last net I ever have to buy, providing I don’t step on it.beckmannet.com

I’ll second Dave’s recommendation for the Beckman net. This was my first year with my new Beckman and can honestly say it has been the best net I have ever owned. I know a good net can be spendy, but why spend all that money on rods, reels, tackle and other gear then have the big one get away at the side of the boat

Dave, does Beckman have nets that are dipped in that plastic stuff to prevent hooks from piercing through the knots? I know the rest of the unit is built like a tank to last forever.

I had a Beckman for 10 years, this last year it broke at the grommet point down by the handle, I liked it very much but that little boo boo almost cost me a 20# pike, my buddy was fast enough and the pike lethargic enough to hold it up against the boat with the net and hand land her!!! All while I was screaming at him- I apoligised later after she was released, I’d had boughten another but Gander or Scheels didnt carry them around here. There are alot of nice nets on the market!!

    LundgEYE,

Most if not all of the beckman nets have a rubber dipped netting to prevent unwanted hooks getting buried into the net. I own a couple of the 9′ extended versions for most of my trolling applications and then collapse it for all my other situations. I have been using these nets for quite awhile now and never had an issue with any of them, other than not netting big enough fish!!

I think having two nets is ideal. One high quality net with a longer handle for when two of you are in the boat, plus one smaller lightweight net that is easily handled with one hand when fishing by yourself.

I have two Beckman nets. I use them primarly for Salmon and Steelhead in the rivers and they can REALLY take a beating. I like them.
