My father is currently running a 18ft Crestliner but is looking for a bigger boat. What are your thoughts on the Lund 2025 or the Crestliner 202. He has all the usual questions dryness, storage, toughness of latches, pumps etc. Would like to here pros and cons from owners on both boats as well as hp recommendations for these two boats.

I would say they are pretty close and it all depends on personal preference(s). I have not looked into the latest layouts and etc. to be able to tell you what I think is best. I would tell him to look at both and what ever he likes better, to buy. Either way they each have + and -. It all depends on what matters most for each individual. Good Luck!

I owned a Crestliner 202 and a Lund ProV tiller and I would say that both boats are built very well. I did like my Crestliner’s ride better than the ProV and there is NO boat that I have seen that has more storage room than the Crestliner 202. I would defintely fish out of both boats again! 690reece

I have owned both and prefer the Crestliner. Dryer ride, better ride, and I like Crestliner’s warranty and customer service people better than Lunds. Both are excellent products but I prefer the Crestliner. If you want a ride in one email me at [email protected] and I’ll take you out.

I’ll give a big A+ for the Crestliner warranty, it is very good and they stand behind it!

i have a 2025 le single consel and the le is the reason i have a lund. i like sitting futher back in the boat for trolling with the kicker. the only other boat that was close is the pre2006 tuffy 1990 esox deep v. tuffy moved the consel foward about a foot on the 2006 models. as far as the lund goes, i like it. the front deck is big enough to have a polka dance on it. i for one don’t like the center rod storage, most manufactures went with that. i being a muskie fisher, my rods are out on deck with baits on them ready to toss. as far as dryness goes when it is blowing hard out of the northwest and you are heading for big point from cove bay you are going to take some spray quartering over the bow with any boat. i fish with my buddy in his 20ft tuffy and i will say it is a dryer and smoother ride than my lund but you still need raingear when the wind is blowing. i think that the biggest difference between crestliner and lund would be color choices. both boats are quality made and will stand up to what most people will put the boat through. this is my second lund, my first was a ’95 angler dlx, that i ran hard on mille lacs also. not 1 leak in any rivet. i think it comes down to which boat has the more practical layout, for the way you fish……tom f

Having owned both crestliners and lunds. I feel I can take a crack at this question.

Dryness: I think that my crestliner was slightly dryer on any given day. Both boats will take a little spray in high winds. In large waves I give the nod to the crestliner.

Storage: This is a matter of personal opinion as far as layout and design. The fit of the lids on most of the storage seems to be a little better on the lunds. As far as the latches go I think they are fairly similar if not some of the same latches. My only complaint about the crestliner is that the rod locker lid seemed to need pushed in toward the stern to close.

Horsepower: I would say at least a 225 if you want good performance. The crestliner will be a little faster with the same horsepower than the lund.

As far as pros and cons goes I cannot really comment on that. They are both fantastic boats. This is really a ford vs. chevy type debate as it s a personal preference.

All that being said I am currently running a crestliner and have no plans of changing soon.
