I don’t think you’ll hear too many people saying they miss being limited to those kits… If I only want one color, I only want one color! And all the ringies and k-grubs will be the same way…

Oh yeah, and the prices went down or are going down across the board. Dave tells me the ringies are going to go from $11/hundred down around $6.99….!

Yep….watch out for the falling prices
Happens that I can buy right from the factory, and that helps.
You’ll see many new colors & products to come soon. Fun !

Do you fish Super Doos with any special jig or any lead head jig ? Thanks

I like a head that kind of matches up nice with the super doo…. its kind of a compressed head…. I have a pic of a digitally zoomed in doo in a saugers mouth that should give you an idea of the style I like to use for doos….

Good question. I got to design a new jig series for B-Fish-N over the winter and we’re about 2.5 weeks away from their release. The head design is similar to the design that RiverEyes is referring too but we did a TON of testing and working with the hook placement to get the proper balance point. These jigs will feature a slightly over-sized Mustad Accu-Point hook…. these are rediculous sharp and have been featured in many commercials and magazines over the winter. Their claim is that it is nearly impossible to bend over the hook points, which is in fact true, and that they have one of the strongest and sharpest hooks on the market. It’s the hook I listed as a requirement for these jigs and B-Fish-N agreed to go that route.

All jigs will have a stainless steel plastics keeper. A much better design than the collars found on most jigs.

And we’ve all heard the “go with the lightest jig possible” bit time and time again but the standard increments of 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, etc. leave alot to be desired. So we’re going to be producing these jigs in the following sizes: 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, etc. The smallest 2 sizes will have 1/0 hooks, the middle 3 will have a 2/0 hook and anything over and including 3/8ths will have a 3/0 hook. I felt these sizes most carefully fit the needs to have a slightly over-sized hook to fish some of the bulkier plastics that are proving to be killers on the river without going over-board resulting in far too many snags and resulting lost jigs.

The paint jobs will be done locally by one of the best painters in the business and they will have a rock hard epoxy fishing over the top of the color coats to keep these jigs from chipping.

That’s my requirements for a “killer” jig for fishing plastics. You can get by with other designs but don’t spend too much time looking for anything made commercially filling the requirements listed above. I’ve looked for that jig for a long time and never found it so I’m REALLY happy the B-Fish-N will be offering it!!

I had the opportunity to field test a few of these jigs this last fall as well. After many hrs on the river I found them to be a great asset to go along with the bigger plastics I like to throw. No more having to pour jigs with oversize hooks for me. This will save me a lot of time in the long run.

The one thing that really gets me is jigs with oversize hooks are rare in most tackle departments around and when I do find um they don’t have a good selection of sizes that I want. For anyone who likes to pitch jigs knows, jig size is one of the most important components in this technique. It is rare to see a bait store with the 3/32oz 5/16oz and 3/16 oz size jigs. No more having to use the wire snips to do some trimming to get the jig weight right. This is going to be so cool you guys will love these jigs.

I already think the jigheads that B Fish’n have are the best I’ve used for the ‘doos and tubes. they work perfectly on 3″ tubes and I’ve grown quite fond of them for fishing river( and lakes) smallmouth. Can’t wait for the new designs.

Yup… the weedless design is the best I’ve seen. I love the adjustable guards and the new mustad hooks are nasty sharp. They work real well fishing crawlers too but that probably doesn’t interest the bass guys tooooo much!

These new heads aren’t weedless. In fact, with that slightly oversized hook they’d be a pain to fish in the thick stuff… but if you want a great jig for pitching plastics, or even for vertical jigging, these new ones are tailor made to the application.

Did someone say vertical jigging I will have to try one of those jigs out when they are not bitting on my jigs from fin-tech, like the Zone-R or the Nuckle Ball. I could always use a good back up Sounds like a great jig James keep me posted. I’m always looking for great jigs for my arsenal. BOLA

I’m glad they aren’t going to have weedguards. I always remove them. I’m not a big “slop” guy so these should be perfect. Like everybody else, I was getting frustrated on trying to buy quality jigs at the retail level. Much easier to sit at the keyboard and have them delivered to your home. The quality of hooks on these sound good if they are the same ones on the ‘doo jighead currently being sold.
when will they be available? I’m itchin’ to do some cyber shopping. probably have to get some Kalins also. I was made a big believer of those on that trip Mike W and myself took with you.

Actually Steve, I like the Mustad hook in the new jigs a little bit better than the ones in the doo heads… but both are damn nice in my book with these new heads being designed from the ground up to be used specifically with plastics and hair… fun stuff!

Any chance that you will add tubes to the plastic selections featured in your on-line store? nothing too fancy. just a nice selection of 3 or 4 incher’s?
garlic impregnated? I thought there was going to be some ISG products in the store. They make a great line of tubes IMHO

Tubes….yep, I can see doing some tubes. And some real nice spinner baits too.
I think these new jigs just “rock”. And are just the thing for plastics. Hey, I am very impressed! James has done himself proud in this design. They will become a classic, is my bet .
    Thanks James!

Couple weeks. I believe the spincast molds get made next week. After that, it’s a quick deal. When we get the first jigs, my guess is Dave will get them in the hands of some EFN Staffers for testing to make sure we’ve good a good product. So…. couple two – three weeks is my guess. Dave would know better as he’s worked closely with the jig makers lately.

Yep… and I gotta get them painted too…so, it will be several weeks. It is going to be so SWEET to have all the weights and sizes! I can not wait…where is my K-Grubs and Super Doos box…. Fun!

Say, James…. we gotta name this “baby” here….. Hum?????…. how about…
    “B-Fish-N The River Jig”
… that is what we will all be doing with them! We’ll be fishin the river with them .
And I guess it to become…. THE river jig .
    What ya think, James? Ideas?

Hoggie, I think “River Jig” is to generic, too many river jigs. With all the great guys posting on FTR, for fun, I think you should have a contest to come up with a catchy name for the jig. What do you think?

I’m with Huppert…. we can come up with a much better name… if you’re interested. Could be a bit of fun too.

    Ok… James, if you wish.

This is a good idea .

Mike Huppert you are the expert here and you should know… your Nuckle Ball and Zone-R jigs are a legend in the fishing industry! By the way, sir… you are one of my fishing “heros” !

Guys, I will present a $100.00 worth of assorted “jigs” to the person who comes up with the right name for this new B-Fish-N Tackle “jig”. I will also pay to have Mike Little (of Team Mates Inc. / Burnsville, MN) custom make & embroidery this person a B-Fish-N Tackle logo hat with that person’s name on it (Mike does excellent work… and has made all the EFN Pro-Staff clothing).

This person that “names a winner” will do so by creating the name you, James, choose from the contest….as the right and unique name for the jig.

I will have a one of the painted jigs here to see on EFN asap.

How long do you want to make the contest go? A week? Timeline is short as I have to begin the printing fro the header card real soon.

    Ready to start? Lets go!

    What fun!
