I think the Compre’s have been redesigned this year and are supposed to be lighter and more sensitive than the previous iteration of the Compre. Should be a pretty decent rod for the price.

My buddy has a Compre musky rod, I’m thinking I’m needing one to. Great rod, well balanced and comphy to cast with all day.

It looks like that the spinning rods are the only ones with the finger hole down to the blank. Also on that spinning rod does it not have a reel seat? It looks like the reel sits right on the cork like an ice rig.

I originally ordered three Compre rods last spring, but a rep talked me into getting the Crucial instead. Part of the reason was that they came out with some new Compres and they wouldn’t be out until midsummer. I ended up with a 6’2″, a 6’6″, and a 7′. I have fished with G Loomis and St. Croix rods before, and I will be ordering new Crucials this spring. The rods are so sensitive. Even with a 1.5 oz sinker on Mille Lacs, I could feel the fish nibbling on my bait. I finished the rods off with some Shimano Stradics and Symmetres. Pretty sweet.
