I am interested in using shad minnows for cut bait and live bait this next summer. As you all know there are tons of them in the St Croix. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to catch them alive and keep them alive to fish with. I found this Shad Trawl in the Catfish Connection On-Line catalog ( http://catalog.catfishconnection.com/itemlist.php?classid+TRAWL ). This trawl looks like the sure bet to catch shad minnows. I’ve read through the “Minnows” section of the MN 2002 Fishing Regulations. It doesn’t sound like this would be one of the legal ways to catch minnows in MN. Has anyone had any experience with a Shad Trawl?
