A couple of months ago I posted a question about digital cameras and found that the input great. I wanted to reply with the results of my searches. I bought an Olympus C-50 Zoom with 5.0 Mpixels and couldn’t be happier. The features are easy to use, the camera is super small, the case is durable, and the pictures are great so far.
    Thanks, Zim

I also did a post a little while back asking about digital cameras. I ended up with a Kodak DX4330 3.1. pretty straight forward, and am still learning how to use it. need to pick up a storage card, It has 16mb internal storage. just got the new computer to take the camera program, so just downloaded my first dozen pictures. watch out for timely fish photos. A friend of mine just got a Cannon G3. New model with 4 mega pixel resolution. I have a Sony MVC 90 with 1.6 resolution. It’s amazing the difference in picture quality, especially when using the manual zoom feature. The G3 brought a deer standing in the brush in for a great picture when she could barely be seen with the naked eye. Tons of other neat features on the G3 but the difference in price is a bit tough to swallow with the Sony (discontinued model) at $365 and the G3 (new model) at about $800. Isn’t this computer stuff great? I notice it has the same capability as a boat for making money diasappear!

Your sure right that you drop alot of money on a camera just as you can a boat. What makes it worse is that since you have the nice boat you now catch more fish, since you catch more fish you catch larger fish, since your catching larger fish you need a better camera to photo all those large fish. And so on, and so on…

Reading this post now has me I’m looking for a digital camera that has a timer on it so I can take pictures by myself if I have to. Do all of these camera have this feature. It’s time to cash in the 35MM and get a Digital. Then I can start showing you guys some more hog smallies and the products I use to catch them on. A.K.A BOLA

I have a Nikon Coolpix 950 and it has a timer. Most others I have seen also have timers. Can’t say for sure on the very low end cameras though. Mine goes with me on every fishing trip, nicely tucked in behind the Cabela’s Guidewear bibs next to my body which keeps the batteries in great shape in sub freezing weather. I plan to use the window mount tripod this year for taking shots of me, with fish, when I am alone. Isn’t this technology great?!!

most of your decent digitals have timers….. but some of the better ones have remote controls… those are REALLY nice…. the best I saw for that was a canon G2 (i think).. it had an extendable rotating viewer so you could fip it to the side and reverse it.. and therefore see it from the front.. AND it had a remote control to take the pic when you were lined up good… it just dont get better then that… unless you have a photographer in the boat!

Jeff, The Olympus C-50 Zoom camera I bought has a timer wi a small remote control that works really well. You can set the camera, pose with you fish, and press the button which starts with a delay and then the picture is taken. Really Cool! I would think there’s many models out there with that feature but I don’t know who has it. LOL
