looking to get a replacement for my car-trunk travel rod. Currently use a 5’6″ L berkley cherrywood, and i find it lacking when dealing with beefy stream bronzers.

I usually use weightless plastics, 3/32oz and 3/16oz jigs. so im looking for something that will cast them well. it needs to be 6’long and 2-pieces.

narrowed it down to st. croix premier UL and BPS bionic blade L. Basically want to know if the premier UL has enough backbone. The cherrywood Light power seems too whippy when setting the hook with flukes across the stream. the premier is rated UL, but its 6″ longer, and seems to have a faster action to it.
anyone with any experience with the 3 rods mentioned, or just the UL power premiers?

I have a St. Croix Premier 6 ft ultralight rod that I caught a northern on that was around 24” and had no problem getting the fish in. But my rod that is used for carrying around in the trunk for emergencies [fishing fixes] is the 6′ 6” Premier Med. Light fast action 2 piece rod. I use the med. light as you never know what you might hook or snag in a stream or small river. I would think that if you want the lighter action that a light action rod would work very well. Let us know what you chose to go with and how well it works for you.
    Thanks, Bill
