Now that we have taken care of the kids Christmas gift’s, it’s my turn. I am going to upgrade the crankbaits and a have a good supply of raps. What other cranks work well on the river. Any suggestions would be helpful

    Tom,

Would not hurt to add some frenzy divers to the list. (crawdad is my favorite).

    Tom,
This is a good question but it really depends on the type of fishing your planning to do. Top level choices would include Thunder Sticks, Walleye Divers, Shad Raps, Husky Jerks, Reef Runner, Smithwick, etc. I would suggest selecting a couple of colors and try to purchase the above baits in as many sizes possible. Try to mix it up with both deap diving and shallow running baits and just try to get out and use them. I would also use the fishing reports as a selection tool.
    Good Luck, Ron

I have fallin in love with the frenzy pro model deep divers, they out preformed rappalas 15-1 on walleyes were I fish in Canada from there I caught everything from pike to muskie to smallys and LM on just about any type of water system around Eau Claire. They are currently on sale at the local hardware store for 4$ a pop……..cheap!

Midwest Matt,…. I also had the pleasure of using the Frenzy baits this fall, mostly on the St Croix. Thanks for the Crawdad color tip.

Ron Zimmermann…. Appreciate the reply, those all sound like good choices. Looks like I might have to dig a little deeper into the pocket book. What the heck I “need a huge selection” just in case.

Bigpike…. I have to agree with you there, those Frenzy Deep Divers are excellent producers. They are the reason for the over adundance of Raps in the box. Lost quite a few Frenzy Baits this year.

Thanks for the advice Fleet Farm will be minus a few crank baits tomorrow.
