The question of maps for the river comes up so often….any possiblility this is the the start of an FTR ‘fishing FAQ’ ? (I am aware of the FAQ of ‘how to use this bb’). Another addition might be the ‘how to winterize your boat’ posted by JonJ and a couple of the battery links that have been posted lately.

Good question. I’ll pass it along to James and maybe when they redo some of the stuff [not too far in future] on the sites they could add that. Thanks, Bill

Many years ago I purchased a book with all these maps in it from the Corps of Engineers. At the time it was pretty cheap (maybe $15) but has probably gone up, if available at all. The maps are great quality though not waterproof. The book is about 11 x 20 inches in size.

Hi Guys ! ( FYI ) Every year at the Sport shows the DNR has a booth that gives away alot of free stuff. One is a paper back you have been looking for, it is the MISSISSIPPI RIVER GUIDE ! The latest issue was compiled in 1998 and updated in 2001 !!! Everything you need to know about the Mississippi from lock and dam #2 to the Iowa Boarder is in print, even the wing dams ! Remember though, it is only a guide, and things seem to move around on the OLD MISS. I have been around for a while, so I know that there is alot of old structure that isn’t marked. That’s where I fish !!!!

This link is to the navigational charts for the river that I use solely for Pool 2. You need adobe acrobat to run this but well worth it in my opinion. I zoomed in on every section and had it laminated with really thick laminate so it never rips or tears. This is also in color and by far my favorite map for pool 2.

Hey, thanks guys! I have been using an old set of maps for our area, but both of these links have much better, and more up to date maps than what I have been using! I’ll be going through some ink this week in my printer!!!!
    Thanks again,
    Rooster
