I am looking to find an anchor I saw on television that was made in SD, or at least I think so. It was one of those that dug in with a fairly short rope length and steep angle to the boat. Anybody have some clues for me with a name?

Now this is just a guess, but I think it may be the Richter anchor. I seem to remember seeing it advertised on the Tony Dean Outdoors show last year. Maybe? Anyone else want to take a crack at it?

I bought mine at Cabela’s. I bought the 20 pounder. It holds my Lund 1675 Explorer SS just fine. I think it was about 60 or 70 bucks.

Hey Dave, Any chance of talking you into a pic of the anchor so we can see what kind it is? Come on Bud, time to spill the beans and get the lead out! lol Thanks, Bill [ps. nice seeing you again last night. Had been awhile.]

Thanks you guys, this is the one I was asking about. Guess it really is made in Wisconsin, though Ao do you think the 20 will hold my Lund 1700 Fisherman?

It should hold your boat in most conditions, but you may want to add about 3 feet of heavy chain. Don’t use anything less than 100 feet of rope either.

Very good Idea on the chain waterfowler. If you look closely you can see that my rope is starting to fray. This is after almost 1 season of fishing with it, I’ll be puting a chain on it soon. And although its not the perfect anchor….it’s the best one I have found so far.

Thanks for the photo. First time I’ve seen one like that one.

I will be heading to Cabelas this week, will check them out for sure. I presently have a fairly heavy 2 spear cast iron anchor with 100 feet rope and there are times it just doesn’t bite into the bottom good enough. I will remember about the chain, sounds like a good idea to me.
