I have a Coleman spot light that plugs into a cig lighter that has stopped working for me. The bulb does not appear to be burned out but I am not sure, it has a halogen bulb, can you tell by looking at the bulb if it is burned out or not like a regular bulb? Has anyone else ever had this problem? How did you fix it? This is a nice spot light and unfortunately Colman does not make it anymore so I would like to get it fixed if possible.

Check between the leads on the connector with a volt ohm meter. If it shows an open, check the bulb then check for and open on the two sides back the connector. Bet its the bulb. Easiet thing to do is just replace the bulb, if that isn’t it, you still have a spare if you get it fixed. And oh, make sure to take it out to look at it. Never know.

I have a newer coleman spot light that when the battery is completely dead, needs 12 hours of charging before it will even start to light the bulb. According to the manual, it needs 18 hours to be fully charged. Does it need more charging time?

This one does not have a battery it only works with a cord plugged into a cigarette lighter.

    Hey Steve,

Same thing happend to my spot light just last week ……just stopped working (it was brand new this spring). Bulb doesn’t seem to be burnt out, but everything else seems to be working??? Fleet Farm didn’t carry replacement bulbs for me to try either…..I ended up just buying a new one (Cabela’s has them on sale for $9.99 down from $19.99 )
