not asking for much , is he ?

Ive tried the neoprene and the sealz skin and I wouldn’t waist my / his money on these.

What has your experence been ?

Looking for where you got them, how much you paid for them, and the over-all rating you would give them.

    Thanks in advance

I use surgical gloves under jersey .they hold the heat are waterproof and very cheap.just change them out when they get soaked.

I have been using Glacier Gloves for winter fishing. They sell all different models of their neoprene gloves. I have been having my best luck with the “rock climbing” gloves. The rock climbing models are 100% sealed with no cutouts for fingers or thumbs. These gloves are waterproof and are also sold with liners for colder weather. They stay waterproof as long as you do not puncture them with hooks too often.
They have worked well for me over the years. I have been able to even tie knots with them on. I believe the “sportsman’s gloves” are the ones with the fingers and thumbs that pull back.

I believe there was a good sized post about this issue last year around this time frame.

I hate neoprene also. I used a pair of these Cabela’s gloves last year and was pretty pleased with ’em. I wore them all day on one of the coldest Rainy River trips I’ve ever been on and I was able to reach right into the minnow bucket and bait up without taking them off. The Goretex liner is loose inside (no sewing to make holes) so they can be a pain to get on sometimes if the liner gets twisted or turned inside out. But once you get them on, who cares, you don’t have to take them off and on to re-bait or handle fish. After a long day they seemed to get a little damp inside so I’ll have an extra pair along from now on.

I agree with DeeZee, the Glacier Glove rock climbing or ice climbing gloves have been great for cold weather when used with the supplied liners. A number of other neoprene gloves have a coarse area in the fingers due to the stitching while the Glacier Gloves are smooth and comfortable for prolonged use.

I like the Glacier gloves also but on days like this Neoprene are the best. I usually got the fingers off all my gloves. This was one cold day on pool 4. These guys had to drive back 6 hours in this. YUCK!

    GORE-TEX Stretch Gloves
I bought a pair of these gloves with the thought of my nephew wanting a pair of waterproof gloves. Well after reading all your comments, and doing a little testing of my own I thought I’d give the Cabela’s Gore-Tex Stretch Gloves a shot. These buggers withstood the test of Mille Lacs Lake on Oct. 22nd and 23rd. I handled fish with them on , took them off to handle fish, my hands got real cold with them off so I left them on for the most part. I even lipped the walleyes and it didnt pierce the glove. When taking out the hooks from the fish I had little problem but if I got a hook in the glove, I had no problem getting it back out. All in all when I took them off , my hands got cold, but only after a few minutes of having them on my hands warmed right back up.

Oh yea , one more thing……. They have my competitors insulation in them….something called PrimaLoft…….seemed to work

Thanks for all your input and I hope this follow up helps…
