Bob I have the X-135 in the bow of my Ranger bass boat. I really like the unit. It has great picture detail in the readouts. I really like it when I’am down on Table Rock Lake Mo. and dropshotting in 30 to 60′ of water. You can see the bass hugging the bottom and watch them streak up to my bait and fish on. By the way I’am headed up to Hackensack tomorrow for a week. My family and I are staying on Webb. I would recommend a buy on this unit if you are looking for very detailed readouts.

I have the X-125 and love it. You can not go wrong with that unit.

How much difference is there between the 125 and 135? I do see the output watts power is 2400 over 4000 on the 135 unit.

I have the 125 and it does what i need it to do but you asked:

    1) the amber led background light is hard to read at night where the 135 has a white one which might be better.

    2)depth on the 125 is 900ft. and the 135 is 1000 ft.
(like you’d really use that extra advantage)

So the outputs different and the backlight is different. Hard decision to make for the extra money

    Good luck

I own the X125 and am very happy with the purchase. I too pondered between getting the X125 and X135. The only advantage I saw in the X135 was the “non-amber” light for night use, it did seem clearer (in the store) than the X125’s amber light. In the end I just could not justify the extra $100 just for that. I don’t do that much night fishing, but I have used it a little in the dark I have absolutely no problem seeing it. It’s a great unit.

Thanks Tom, I will do that……PM me with your schedule and I’ll fit it in! How’s the new boat going? You may need to take me fishing now that I’m ” boatless ” I’m not sure when I’ll make the final deal on the new one….soon I hope. I can always go over and hook onto Hooks boat I guess

    bobber,
I put the 125 on a couple of weeks ago. Love it. It’s a HUGE upgrade over what I had. I just need some more experience with it.

I’ve got the 135 in the bow of my boat. I was debating between the 125 and 135 too. However, at the time I bought it, I found some 135’s packaged without the transducer (which I didn’t need due to the universal in my Genesis). The price difference between the 135 w/out a transducer and a 125 with a transducer wasn’t much at all, so I went with the “better” model.
