Anybody test these against their St. Croix Avid counterparts? It’s pretty obvious Shimano has built their Crucial spinning rod line to directly compete with and duplicate the St. Croix Avid spinning rod models at a slightly lower price point. With the 6-8 mxf and the 6-6 mlf you can cover alot of different walleye presentations and I’m looking at purchasing the Avid’s or the Crucials soon. I’m looking for performance comparisons only. Looks and warranty are secondary to performance for me. Thanks.

Been casting crankbaits with a 7’6″ rod this year. Useing power pro helps with some of the loss of sensativity of a longer rod. I have no problem giveing up a little feel for a longer cast. Just started useing this rod this year and believe the longer cast have help with catching alot more walleyes on crank baits.
