    Hello All!

I have a brand new boat and have a problem with the livewell. I used the livewell this past weekend for our first family fishing trip. I had filled the livewell to put our fish in and left it on automatic to add new water as the day went on. Occasionally I would shut the system off so as to not run down the battery. I think I may have left the aerator switch on when we went for a boat ride to break up the day. When we stopped to fish again, I could not get the aerator to go back on. I swapped out the fuse with the one from the bilge pump and I still didn’t have the pump turn on. Could the intake be clogged?-I checked the screen was attached and clear. Could I have burned up the pump when we went for a ride? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…

    Thank You!

I am assuming that your live well needs to be re-primed. Open the hatch by your back battery and listen for the aerator that is making the noise. Pull the clip out from the side of the aerator. THen turn the aerorator top counterclockwise until the water starts coming through. Replace the top and you livewell should kick in.

This is a common problem. With the fresh water intakes of the lund, I was told that the system sometimes loses its prime.

I’ve had the same thing happen. Just like said earlier, the pump is not primed. Prime it and it should work.

Another trick to get it primmed is to turn the pump on, put the boat in reverse and give it a little throttle for 20-30 feet. Usually gets the flow going again.

    It only works on c-liners.

    Thanks for the advice guys….
The pump was the problem. I was very impressed with the responses to my first posting.

    Welcome aboard P’trson Lund! !

Feel free to ask or answer any thing! This is a great site, with a ton of knowledge on about everything this side of Mars! There is a little bit of ribbing that takes place also !

I had a similar problem and the reverse trick (with a rockford)worked for me (Thanks Jon J!)
