I have a pretty major hole burned in lower transom of my

boat. Dealer says its from stray electric current yet my

boat checks out fine and no other boats in slips adjacent

to mine show damage. Not getting anything but denial of

fault from both Mercury (Mercathode system) and Lund

Anyone ever had a similar problem that would care to share

some insight? Damage will require boat to return to factory

to have entire rear panel replaced. Need to get to bottom of

problem to prevent it from occuring again. See attachment

for close up picture – and yes, it is already leaking like a sieve!

Amen to that! A lesson to learn – warranty means nothing
when no one can figure out the cause of a problem. Insurance
adjustor looked at it yesterday – didn’t know what to make of it (including a determination of whether or not it is
covered damage) In any case, it just got motor put back
together (another horror story by itself) and has had a
temporary patch job done. Should be back in the water by the
weekend and head to the factory for permanent repairs in November
