I have an old 1988 Lund with an aluminum plate on the bow for mounting a trolling motor, but the PD55 I bought would be about a foot off the centerline if I used the plate as is. What should I use to extend the plate so I can mount the motor closer to the center line?

If I was you I wouldn’t worry about being exactly on the centerline. I have a PD65 on a 2000 Lund and my trolling motor is about a foot to the rightside of center when it is in the water. This way when I pull up the trolling motor the shaft goes right along the gunwale. It has not made a bit of difference in how the boat steers. At least give it a try where it is and see what you think.

I agree. Try it as is first. If you see an issue you can adress it then, but I don’t see any big problem.

I agree with the boys above. I have two boats and both are set off center, so that when it is not deployed it stays within line of my boat and don’t have to worry about catching it on the dock or etc. It steers just fine being offseted.

You probably know this but make sure the off set is to the side of the boat that you will fish the most. This will make it easier to see which direction the motor is pointing.

Thanks for the help! I will take the advice and get it mounted this weekend.
