Everytime I accelerate my boat motor, I get a rash of fish icons on my locator. Is this some kind of dreaded feedback problem? Anyone else ever experience this?

This could be caused by air bubbles created by the hull of your boat, rivits, strakes, water turbulance. Check and make sure your transducer is getting “clean water” and the signal should clean up.

Did you locate the transducer on the right side of the motor as when your looking at the back of your boat. 99% of all transducers should be located in that position. Good luck on the problem solving. Also did you read the manual for unit.

    Fireman nailed it.

The transducer must be placed just below the edge of the transome..and best off towards the center of the boat…check your owners manaul for best location for YOUR unit.

When my transducer gets bumped up…I know right away when I start going at any kind of speed, either I loose the depth or I pick up all sorts of clutter…I don’t have my fish ID on.

Transducer angle/position is where I would start looking.
