Wondering where you all installed your GPS antenna puck.
I called Lowrance and was advised to leave it loose for first run and see how it worked out in different locations….Guess what it worked almost everwhere I tried it. Are there any future considerations to keep in mind for possible interference ie: If I add a marine radio down the road or intsall my vexilar near it at a later date????
How about just plain in the way locations any of you have found that may be best to avoid??
    Thanks

I screwed plexiglass to the back of the puck then added “velcro”, now I can move or remove it whenever I want.

I have one installed on my console by the GPS and regular locator secured with silicone to the console. The other puck for my GPS in the back that I use for running my kicker motor sits next to the GPS and regular locator on top of the gunnel. I have wide guinnels on my boat [Mr. Pike 16]. Both seem to run fine where located and the back puck is fastened by silicone also.
    Thanks, Bill

Keep it away from your marine radio antenna.

I let my GPS puk lay on my dash.It is not held down by anything and I have never had a problem with a signal.

I purchased a Lowrance LMS-330C last year and had similar concerns/questions about where to mount the GPS antenna puck. Then I found a RAM mount specifically designed for mounting this puck, purchased it and mounted it on my console next to my RAM GPS mount and Dash locator. I then ran the wire to my LMS-330C mounted on the bow and pushed the wire down in between the side of the boat and the floor. I then was able to get the wire pushed underneath the enclosed bow area and am able to connect it to the gps by running it through the bow ‘window’ access. It works out well as I usually store the locator in enclosed Bow area when it is not in use or traveling.

You can see the mount on the RAM website…RAM-112 is the product number. It has worked our really nicely and I have been very satified with the RAM products in the past. I will see if I can take a picture of the mount and post it when I get the time.

    Hope this helps!

    Take care!

I have one mounted with a magnet that mounts to the bottom of the puck, you can get them thru Lowrance service. Mine sits on a painted steel plate on top of a ram mount. Got the piece of steel from a local welding shop out of the junk barrel. You can then move it easily to your vehichle for use there.

Thanks for all the GREAT INPUT !
I finally nailed mine down on the outside of the passenger side console. I had to go under the floor to get there otherwise I would have run out of cable. I used an aluminum plate on the bottom and HD indoor/outdoor velcro to secure it and put no hole in boat and unit should be removable if I decide to put into vehicle during off season. The cable had a very short amount exposed from the top of the console to where it tucks under the side of the boat.
    Thanks Again to everyone !

I came up with a rather unique solution for my NavMan gps. I mounted the Gps unit and antenna on the glove compartment in my Stratos. (It’s removable and fits in between the bucket seats.) I set it up to be powered using a twelve volt powercord plugged into the box. That way, I can take it with me when I’m in someone else’s boat.
