I have a ’98 johnson 50 hp. I had it out on Saturday. It seemed to shake quite a bit more than I remembered. Seems to run great when cruising, but at idol I thought it was going to tear the transom off. I did put new plugs in it this year. I also put a gas additive in and run before winter. I run Seafoam in her too. Any ideas? It was a little cool on Sat. but I felt after she warmed up a bit it would smooth out a little more than it did.

I would first pull the plugs and see what they look like.Did you have your engine fogged?This will gum up plugs when you first start it up.I always start my motor on the old plugs in the spring and let it warm up and burn off the fogging oil before installing new plugs.Check the plug wires and connections and also check the fuel lines and fuel filter for any cracks or loose connections.
I thought I would have to try those things. I was wondering about those plugs myself. I also noticed some gas coming from the gas inlet when I pumped up the bulb. I think I do need to check a few things. Thankyou.
