Minn Kota Maxxum Question

    I’m still waiting for my maxxum. (back ordered). When it comes can I reverse the head on the shaft like the old one? Or don’t I need to? The old one has 36# the new one 55#.
    16.5 foot boat and the trolling motor is a transome mount used almost excusively for back trolling. Thanks

    If you have 3X steering, you do not have to modify anything. Just pull a nob and roatate 60 deg. Takes 2 seconds to do.

    No 3X steering. I’m thinking that with 55# of thrust if the 3 reverse gears can’t handle the situation it would be time to fire up the outboard.
