Question for rod builders

Has anyone tried using some All-Star blanks to make some custom jigging rods. There IM-10 and Titanium Graphite blanks are quite a bit cheaper than St. Croix or G-Loomis. Just wondering if anyone was getting similar quality. I’ve make a couple of rods from St. Croix’s and like em’–but there blanks are getting expensive. And G-Loomis has always been on the high end of the price range. I can get All-Star titanium graphite blanks from Jann’s NetCraft for between $75 to $110. The St. Croix’s are starting at $110 and going up from there. Thanks in advance for your replies.

they are not bad blanks but look at Diamond back blanks they start at 190 and go up from there I would put a Croix rod up against them any day but you get what you pay for is all you need to remeber.

Adam, can you tell me where to find Diamondback blanks that aren’t for fly rods. A quick google search only turned up fly rod blanks. Thanks in advance.

A good local supplier is Hooked On Fishing in Rochester. I might also be able to get you some help on good blank prices. PM me.
