bought a 2003 tournament pro with the rod storage with the tubes up front… just wondering if there is a way to make the holes larger, none of my spinning rods fit. the bottom eyes on all of my spinning rods are just a little to large.is there an easy fix to this problem? my musky rods and trolling rods all fit nicely, thanks for the help.

I had the same issue, I ended up taking and bending the eyes back a little. not the best solution but it worked

I’m not knocking alumacraft, but simple little engineering flaws like that drive me nuts. I’ve got my share in the C-liner. They don’t seem like much, but didn’t anyone actually put a 7′ spinning rod in to test the tubes??? Sorry just a pet-peave. We spend this kind of money and you guys had to find the flaw.

sounds like a good reason to buy some NEW rods that fit !

Call your dealer & they can make them bigger for you. I think there 2005 boats have been changed.

I have the same boat with the same problem,a definete enginering oversight. After much help from Destry at LaCannes, the problem was fixed by moving the entire rod holder tubes and metal facing forward approxamately a foot or so.Works great now! Good luck!

The 2003 and 2004 Lunds are the same way. Any high-end spinning rod in excess of 6’6″ will not fit…. even in slots labeled for rods up to 8′.

at least there is room to put them in the side rod storage. just not very well designed i guess. other than that, the boat is sweet. really like how wide it is….
    thanks for the input
