The 2005 Mercury 9.9 4-strokes are 35 lbs lighter than the 2004s. Any ideas on how they did that?

The 9.9 Pro Kicker weight is 107 pds.

When I have compared mine to a few friends of mine I notice the lower unit is smaller(yet has the bigfoot gear case) and when you take the cover off its not a very big motor!
But it has plenty of power!!

I took a few pics for you to try and compare.

I had the cover off both motors because Im trying to get off all the water spots!

Another thing about the motor, I have pulled up to a few people that have wanted to see the motor and hear it run. When I put the motor down or up everyones like holy crap that lift is fast. I compared it to a friends bigfoot and I could almost go up and down before he was up.

I really like it! Heck I love it!!!

    B Sander-

I have been looking at getting a 4 stroke kicker, prefereably a Mercury. Could you tell me any details about the new Pro Kicker. What all comes on it? Electric trim, start, etc. If you could pm me and tell mew how much I’m looking at to buy this 2005 Pro Kicker I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Sure, it comes with electric start and still has a pull cord. Shifting is right in the handle but there is a button on the side you push and you can high rev for warm up. The Pro kicker has its own lift on it, and like I said it is very fast! An awsome feature is the straps and engine bracket, you put the motor up flick this little lever down and your motor is straped in place.
It has a standard 4 blade low pitch, high thrust prop for achieveing lowest trolling speeds in its class.

I paid $3600.00 for a 9.9 Pro Kicker, panther electric steer, A panther plate that goes between the motor and the boat, and install.

Its a great motor Im very happy with it!

Starks in Prairie du Chien has the pro kickers on sale for $2399. That wouldn’t include all the panther goodies that Brian added but it’s a darn good price on that particular motor.
