Fishhawk livewell/baitwell

I bought a new to me boat this spring. It is a 1999 Crestliner 1650 Fishhawk. It has a Livewell in the bow deck and a baitwell on the right side towards the middle. There is a pump mounted in the transom with a screen on the outside. There is a switch to turn on the pump. Also I noticed there are adjustable flow valves in both the livewell and baitwell. So I assume that by running the pump I can fill both or by turning off the flow, one or the other. How do I drain them? Also, do they have any sort of recurculation. I noticed a bilge type port on the right side of the boat up front by the livewell, what is that for? Also, there is another hole in the transom that I assume is the drain for one or both? If anyone can help me out with this I would appreciate. It will be a couple weeks yet before I can try it out in a lake. I have to fix a bunch of wiring that mice decided to chew on, and am getting a cover for the boat made next week. Thanks, Wayne

    Wayne,

This is speculation since I don’t know that year/model. In my 03, there is no recirculating pump(at least not from the factory). The hole in the back with the screen is the water pickup. The hole in the side of the boat is over-flow. My boat has a plug in the bottom of the livewell and baitwell to drain them. You may have a valve somewhere else in the livewell area that allow it to drain??
