Has anyone got a model 987 or model 981?

Wade, have you evaluated these units yet?

The images on the website are pretty awesome but I have questions regarding how those images were aquired.

    1. How slow does the boat need to travel in order to obtain images of that clarity? The images on the website are acquired between 2 and 5 mph.

    2. How stable does the boat need to be in order to obtain images of that clarity? In other words, if I am floating or trolling in a 6″ or 1 foot chop, will that screw up the view?

    3. Can the images be stored to some media for review on a PC?

    Here is an example:

Just got my new Bass and walleye boat magazine. Feature article on this unit and this image. I just got home and haven’t read it yet. looks intersting for sure.

At this point, I can only tell you that they look “really cool” and how much they cost. We’ve got the basic specs on them but you can read those for yourself.

I would contact Greg Walters at Humminbird to inquire. I can’t find his email right now but I’m sure you could get it from Humminbird, or even call him if you can catch him in the office: 800-633-1468

Josh, They run a little under 2 grand, similar to a high end Lowrance or Garmin unit.
