I have a question for the group;
I have located a ’91 Merc, short shaft 15HP. It’s been very well taken care of, no obvious collision marks on the lower end, prop is in great shape, skeg straight. I don’t know how many hours. The guy used it on Michigan as his kicker.
He’s asking $900, sound like a good asking price?
Sounds a little high. Being a kicker it might have a lot of hours. I would guess about $700 in good condition. Like new condition $900 would be fair. You might look up outboards on ebay and see what they are brining.
Two years ago I gave $900 for a 94 Johnson 20 hp. The guy bought it for a duck boat and used it one year. Then he bought a mud motor. The motor was stored inside and was like new. I was able to sell my well used 1984 10 hp for $450.
